Last week, Mary and I took our 6 kids down to sunny Florida for a few days of fun in the sun and some serious facetime with a particularly famous mouse. We chose October for two simple reasons. #1 - October is not July and #2 - October is also not August.

Let’s be honest though, Orlando (or the O-Zone, as my homies down there call it) doesn’t seem to have traditional “seasons.” While it was not a stifling frying pan inside the parks, it was a very solid 90 degrees for our entire trip. Also, I learned that we were not only geniuses who had this “October is not July” idea and philosophy. About 500,000 of our closest friends seemed to have gotten the memo as well.
Of the Skrillion or so people that were tooling around the Magic Blingdom and the surrounding subservient parks, aboouuuuuutt 50 % of the adults seemed to be qualified to successfully dress themselves for the occasion. Now, to be fair, that is a sight better than Six Flags over Georgia, where the number drops down dramatically to around 15%.
Now, let’s not get crazy. It’s hot and you’re walking around all day. You want to be comfortable, yet prepared for roadblocks such as superfluous sweating, leg chaffing…you know the deal. However, I would still think that certain grown folks might be able to look in the mirror and say, “Should I wear this Mesh Shirt?”…or “Does this Wife Beater best accentuate my attitude today?”
Apparently not.
BUT, we had a great time nonetheless. We high fived Pluto, had a karate fight with Eyore and told Mary Poppins we liked her movie. All in all, the trip was the bomb.
